Rubicon (tm) for Delphi v1.20
1. Running the Demo from the Delphi IDE
2. Trial Run Users & TARUBICN.INC
3. SysTools 1.00
4. Delphi 2.0 Memory Fragmentation Bug
5. 1.20 Additions/Changes
6. Component Tab Changed from Tamarack to Rubicon
7. Planned Enhancements
1. Running the Demo from the Delphi IDE
----------------------------------------
When running the Demo from the Delphi IDE, you should either turn off the
Break On Expception option, simply ignore the exceptions as they occur, or
run the application outside of the IDE. The same applies when developing
your own application with Rubicon.
2. Trial Run Users & TARUBICN.INC
----------------------------------
Trial run users should not make any changes to TARUBICN.INC.
3. SysTools 1.00
-----------------
If you own SysTools 1.00 has two bugs in the StDict unit, and as a result
should not be used with Rubicon. Instead, use the supplied DCU files or
get the SysTools 1.01 update.
4. Delphi 2.0 Memory Fragmentation Bug
---------------------------------------
Delphi 2.00/2.01 has a memory fragmenation bug that will affect the
processing of large tables. Please carefully review the discussion in
RUBICON.DOC. An article appears in the September 1996 issue of the WinTech
Journal that explains the problem in detail. The new SYSTEM.DCU file dated
08/12/96 does not fix the problem.
5. 1.20 Additions/Changes
--------------------------
* BatchAdd and BatchDelete procedures added
* IndexFieldName property added
* OnWrite event added to TUpdateDictionary
* AfterDelete method added to TUpdateDictionary
* LoadOmitsFromTable method added
* MakeWordDelims function added
* TMakeProgress component added
* TUpdateStats component added
* TUpdateTable component added

* TUpdateDictionary improperly deleting words under Delphi 1.0

6. Component Tab Changed from Tamarack to Rubicon
--------------------------------------------------
Users of Rubicon 1.11 or earlier (both registered and trial run), will need
to take the following steps to ensure that v1.20 is properly installed under
the Rubicon component tab in the Delphi IDE:
* Remove Rubicon from your COMPLIB.DPR/CMPLIB32.DPR and rebuild your library
* Remove the Tamarack tab from the IDE by left clicking on the tabs, select
Configure (Delphi 1.0) or Properties (Delphi 2.0), and remove the tab
* Install Rubicon (see instructions in RUBICON.DOC)
7. Planned Enhancements

simultaneous client updates ++
